Nicolau Adoption
Nicolau is my pet son and though to be honest, he was the one who adopted us. It all happened back in 2018. My family and I were driving to my aunt’s house for lunch, about 40 km away. We made just one quick stop on the way, nothing special.
When we finally arrived, we heard a strange purring sound coming from the car battery area. We opened it up… and there he was! A tiny kitten with the most beautiful blue eyes staring back at us. We had no idea how long he’d been there, but the moment we met his gaze, we knew he was already part of our family.
That’s a picture of him in 2018 (not on the same day we met, though!).
Can you believe he used to be about 80% whiter when he was little?

Naming Him
Now, about his name, we had like a thousand options, because he was such a tiny, perfect, adorable fluffball!! In the end, we chose Nicolau because of a childhood song my dad used to sing to me (and to every cat who ever joined this family, by the way).
“Miaaau Miaaau faz o Nicolau…”

“Meow meow says Nicolow"

Recently, Nicolau, in an attempt to get my attention, took on his parrot persona and meowed while balancing on the back of the chair.
